Frequently asked questions
Can foreigners get a mortgage in Israel?
Yes. Israeli banks lend to non-residents, usually up to 50% of the price, with proof of income from abroad and an Israeli bank account.
What interest rate should I expect?
It depends on the mix of tracks. Prime is 4.75% as of September 2026, and fixed and CPI-linked tracks are priced differently. A mortgage broker builds the mix that fits you.
Do new olim get better terms?
Olim buying their first home can usually borrow up to 75%, the same as Israeli first-time buyers, and may qualify for a government eligibility loan.
