From Illegal Basement to Two Legal, Rentable Units
Like a lot of homes in Israel, this one came with a basement that was built without a permit years earlier. We managed the entire legalization process, and got approval for something even more unusual: splitting the basement into two fully separate rental units, each with its own entrance from the front of the house.
Once the permits were in hand, we built it out from scratch. We poured concrete for a new staircase leading down from the street, laid the marble, cut through the exterior wall to fit a new entrance door, and broke open three more walls to add windows. Inside, we ran all new electrical and plumbing, installed two kitchens, and built out two full bathrooms with new showers, sinks, toilets, and windows. Each unit got its own front door and its own electric meter, so they run as two fully independent homes.
This is Manage in action: one owner, one legalization process, and a full construction project, coordinated start to finish so the owner never had to manage a single contractor directly.
